Modular Energy Devices, Inc. is engaged in the development, manufacture, sales and licensing of advanced batteries and battery management devices.

Our mission is to provide safe and affordable Lithium-ion battery systems, based on a unique design, that will liberate the market for large batteries from its dependence on low performance Lead-acid technology.

The world’s infrastructure, driven by cell phones, cable-TV, internet and other forms of communication requires a dependable source of electricity, but utility deregulation and rapid growth has at the same time negatively affected the reliability of the power grid. This puts a huge emphasis on back-up power systems, the majority of which are supplied by Lead-acid batteries.

Similarly, pressing environmental issues, including global climate change, and air pollution have created a new focus on alternative transportation systems such as electric, hybrid electric and fuel cell vehicles.

There is an insatiable need in the industry for a battery with lower weight and volume, longer life and an inherently safe design. For years, battery manufacturers have tried to produce advanced batteries to fulfill these needs, but always one performance factor is compromised to improve another.
