The software is a battery monitoring application that uses serial (RS-232) or Ethernet (TCP/IP) to communicate and monitor up to 16 communication enabled battery units.
*For Ethernet (TCP/IP) communication to the battery unit/s a serial (RS-232) to Ethernet (TCP/IP) converter/serial server is needed.
Application Features
- Device List table view displaying: device type, device serialnumber, connection status, state of charge (SOC %), voltage (V), current (A) and temperature (°C)
- Device Detail view displaying additional device data
- Device Error view displaying fault bytes messages
- Exportable log of monitored battery data in comma separated format
- Configurable (RS-232) connection settings
- Configurable Ethernet (TCP/IP) connection settings
Application Installation
The application has been tested and verified to run on Windows XP!
- Download Watchbee Hive 1.0.0 - 19.1mb in .zip format
- Unzip the downloaded file to a temporary directory and run setup.exe
- Accept the license agreement
- Select components to be installed
- Choose install directory
- Click close when setup is complete
Application Quickstart
- Add new connection: Set a name for your connection
- Select connection type, serial(RS232) or ethernet(TCP/IP).* If serial(RS232) is selected, only one battery can be monitored at once.
- Select a COM Port
- Enter the IP address of the battery/system to be monitored
- Enter the port range *If only one battery is to be monitored the End Port field should be left blank
- Save the connection
- Connect by using your newly created connection
- When ready hit the Disconnect button to stop monitoring
- Choose to write the monitored data to a comma separated(.csv) file or not
- If you chose to export the log, the logs will automatically be written to the "data" folder in the application install directory *your_directory\Modular Energy Devices\WatchBee Hive 1.0.0\data\
